Far too long and far too quiet, but I am back in the saddle. Well, in the corral ... well, in barn yard ... well, in the property, folks. Definitely on the property.
I am a firm believer of if you’re going to do something, do it all the way. That has not been reflected on my page or blog, other responsibilities and issues took over.
As for what I am doing all the way ... I am taking my first week back to get my body up to speed, correct my form, and all the nitnoid things like that before the opening volley.
Have any of you heard about the 20-rep squat routine? As the name implies it is built on doing one set of 20 squats.
In rough terms, start with the weight used for three sets of 10 squats. Shoulder the weights, start squatting. Keep squatting and breathing until you hit 20. Or, until your body gives out, whichever comes first.
You hit 20? Great! Fantastic! That is no mean feat. Add 5 to 10 pounds for your next time. After you take a day off.
Your workout is not over, not by a long shot. Oh, no.
Once you’ve reracked the weights and are out of the power tower you WILL do 20 squat jumps. Ass to ankles and as high as you can go. Quick as you can, now!!
There will be light pullovers, the usual three by 10 bench and bent rows. Some extra curls and tricep extensions.
But, there is an article coming and my own updates on the numbers to take you all through this six weeks of a lapse in sanity. The motto is GOMAD.
